You are welcome to our website. The Segilola Salami Preparatory School (SSPS) was established in December 2019 to be a leading co-educational day school for children aged 6 – 14 in Abuja, Nigeria. Please read on to find out more about what makes SSPS unique + why you need to enrol your child/ward in our school.

SSPS runs 50 weeks a year Monday to Friday 7.30am – 6pm. The school is closed all public holidays + two weeks at Christmas + an additional 12 days a year for teacher training.

Each year group will have a maximum of 60 students divided into 4 groups of 15 students. Each group will have a group leader and a teaching assistant who will be with the students in their group throughout their time in the school. Each subject will be taught by a tutor and a teaching assistant.

Thus, there will be on average an adult to student ratio of 1:5. Teaching is based on both theory + practical. The small adult to student ratio ensures that each child gets as much individual support as possible. This, in turn, offers a good environment for high academic achievement.

Our students’ success can only be achieved in collaboration with the student’s parent/guardian. Thus, we try to build strong ties with our parents/guardians to ensure the best outcomes for their child/ward.

Using the principles of learning through play, we teach in a non-pressured way that encourages a love of learning + brings out the many facets of our students’ personalities.

That said, we believe in learning through play and use this principle in the way we teach our students. Thus, we extend our students’ childhood whilst concentrating on offering a varied diet that includes our students’ hobbies + interests. We would love to meet you at the school, so please give us a call at any time. Or click now to register your child/ward for our next assessment day.
